2012 Methow Valley Nordic Information
The spring skiing is fantastic, but it does mean we're closing in on the last month or so of Valley nordic skiing. And this seems an apt time to reminisce about the season.
We've had a fantastic season which started here at Thanksgiving. We've skied lots of fabulous K's with 2 and 4 legged friends. We've taught and taken many classes; enjoyed the fabulous cooking of our community at two different potlucks; skied bluebird days on corduroy, and had our share of klister days.
With events like the December Ski Camp, the Vintage Ski Fest, Moonlight Potluck and ski, Tour of the Methow, the Doggie Dash, weekly ski classes, and the clinic with Sam Naney, we've offered something for almost every skier.
In one of our primary missions, we've helped the junior team enjoy new successes on the snow; we've introduced skiing to new families; we've partnered with many local businesses and organizations to share this valley's unique Nordic community; we've seen our homegrown talents gracing the podiums of the world and our trails here in the valley; and we're looking forward to our next season of skiing, fun-raising, and giving.
Look for our new website this spring. And with it, an opportunity to get more involved with Methow Valley Nordic. We're looking for your input on how we can make your membership and our events the best ever.
Many hours of time, from many factions of people, have made this season and all of our events such a great success. We, on the Methow Valley Nordic Board, thank you for being part of our events, and want to extend a gracious "thank you" to the many volunteers, without whom our events wouldn't be possible.
Oh, and while you're beginning to think about storage waxing your skis, the dates for the 2012 Methow Valley Ski Camp are Thursday, December 13th through Sunday, December 16th, with on-snow activities beginning Friday the 14th.
